Reminiscence Dolce Riviera and the La Méditerranée universe
La Méditerranée brings the landscapes of the south of France into a bottle. Reminiscence describes this universe as a journey across the blue sea under the sun, through coastal villages with their colourful little streets, and, further inland, the hills of Grasse, the historic birthplace of perfumery, with its flower fields and aromatic scrubland. The result is sunny, soft and powdery fragrances that convey the pleasure of the good life in the style of the French Riviera.
The two La Méditerranée perfumes
- Dolce Riviera (Eau de Parfum): a white patchouli with dolce vitaspirit, from the amber, woody and musky family. It opens with aldehydes and star anise, continues with hawthorn and sandalwood, and finishes on patchouli and white musk. The brand compares it to white linen drying in the sun: clean, velvety and almost milky.
- Sous un Mimosa de Provence (Eau de Toilette Intense): a tribute to mimosa, the yellow flower of the mild winters of southern France. It combines mimosa absolute, violet and hawthorn leaves in the top notes; patchouli essential oil, tonka bean absolute and white flowers in the heart; and sandalwood, vanilla and musk in the base. It is floral amber, sunny and powdery.
Dolce Riviera or Sous un Mimosa de Provence: which one to choose
Dolce Riviera suits those looking for a clean, discreet and comforting scent, where patchouli is only noticeable as a soft base beneath the musks. It's a great choice for everyday wear and for those who prefer skin scents. Sous un Mimosa de Provence is more floral and luminous, with mimosa as the star and a warm base of vanilla and sandalwood; it's especially pleasant at the end of winter and in spring. Both are sold at IM Beauty in the concentrations specified by the brand.
How to use and combine them
The two perfumes work well together: layering Dolce Riviera and Sous un Mimosa de Provence intensifies the floral luminosity of the combination. Dolce Riviera also works as a musky base for other perfumes from the house, for example Macaron d'Amour, to which it adds a delicately sweet nuance. Two or three sprays on the neck and wrists are enough; in summer, applying it to moisturised skin helps the trail last longer.
