How INTELLIGENT RETINOL 6TR works

Retinol, also known as vitamin A, is often considered the gold standard in anti-aging skin care. When applied to the skin, it is converted to retinoic acid, the active form of vitamin A. Retinoic acid contributes to the synthesis of collagen and prevents its breakdown so that the skin appears visibly smoother and younger. It can also help speed up the natural exfoliation process and reduce melanin production, for a visibly smoother, more even-toned complexion.

1. This performance serum is enriched with climbazole, a proven retinol enhancer. Climbazole helps block the enzyme that breaks down retinoic acid, meaning that a reserve of retinoic acid remains in the skin. This prolongs and enhances the anti-aging effects without causing any additional irritation.
2. Retinol can cause some irritation when first introduced into a skin care regimen.Time Release Technology, present in all Medik8 vitamin A products, helps minimize irritation while maximizing visible results. Our Intelligent Retinol Serum protects the retinol in a polymer reservoir, which essentially works as a protective shield between the retinol and the skin. The polymer deposit slows down the speed with which retinol is able to penetrate the skin, making the active gently penetrate the skin throughout the night.
3. Squalene is an oil identical to the skin that glides effortlessly through the skin's natural barrier, providing the complexion with nighttime hydration and promoting the integration of retinol into the skin care routine. Being a waterless formulation, we have ensured the stability of the powerful but fragile retinol molecule.

How to use

1. After cleansing at night, apply 4 drops of C-Tetra Cream to the face, neck and décolleté. 
2. Follow with your usual Medik8 moisturizer. We recommend Advanced Night Restore, designed to be used after vitamin A.
3. It is advisable to test the patch before using it.

The classic form of vitamin A helps boost collagen levels and improve the skin's natural regeneration cycle, leaving it looking smooth, uniform and youthful.

Climbazole

Climbazole has been proven to enhance the activity of retinoids in the skin to provide the potency of higher percentages without the irritation. 

Squalane

Squalane, a natural emollient, helps restore the skin's natural defense barrier and deeply hydrates it. 

Vitamin E

Vitamin E, an oil-soluble antioxidant, can quench free radicals in the skin while stabilizing retinol for optimal potency.
