African Queen is part of the Ultra-Gourmand™ universe of Jousset Parfums, a new vision of niche perfumery where sensory pleasure is at the center of the formula. Instead of limiting itself to classic floral and woody accords, the house turns to aromatic molecules inspired by food, such as natural acids and pyrazines, responsible for the addictive character of ingredients like coffee, cocoa, roasted nuts, or caramel.

These raw materials, complex to work with and requiring long maturation, demand a prolonged maceration process of between two and three months, much longer than the industry average. First, the concentrate rests in a maturation phase; subsequently, after the addition of alcohol, it is allowed to macerate for a minimum of six weeks until a perfect balance between citrus, floral, and gourmand notes is achieved. Even after bottling, the perfume continues to evolve, gaining nuances and depth over time.

Recommended usage

As Extrait de Parfum , African Queen offers great intensity with few sprays. To enjoy its regal and gourmand character to the fullest:

• Apply 2-4 sprays on pulse points: sides of the neck, behind the ears, inner wrists, and décolletage.
• For a more enveloping trail, it can be lightly sprayed on the upper chest or on clothing (always at a distance and avoiding delicate fabrics).
• If the bottle is very new, making a few 'awakening' sprays and letting it rest for a few days helps the fragrance round out in contact with oxygen.
