How does it work
- Moringa extract is a breathable film former that sits on the surface of the skin around the eyes to provide exceptional defense against pollution, helping to smother free radicals before they can damage the skin.
- Carnosine is a multitasking dipeptide that protects from both glycation and infrared light. Glycation is a natural aging process in which dietary sugars react with proteins, such as collagen, transforming them into advanced glycation end products (AGEs) that cannot be renewed, leading to the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles around the eye area. Advanced Day Eye Protect uses carnosine to help inhibit the glycation reaction and keep the skin around the eyes protected from glycation-induced skin aging. Carnosine may also protect the skin from infrared rays, which make up about half of the sun's rays and may contribute to the breakdown of collagen.

The science
Aside from sun damage, glycation is one of the main factors contributing to premature aging, and many people haven't heard of it. Glycation is the process by which sugars in the body react with proteins, such as collagen, to form advanced glycation end products, or AGEs for short. AGEs can form cross-links between collagen strands, making the collagen rigid and inflexible. The end result is less supple, older-looking skin, and often the formation of fine lines and wrinkles. Medik8's Advanced Day range uses the peptide carnosine to inhibit the glycation process and protect the skin from premature aging.
