A creamy gourmand with a smoky soul

This Extrait de Parfum, created by perfumer Jimmy Bodin at the independent atelier of Jousset Parfums in France, belongs to the Ultra-Gourmand™ universe: almost edible perfumes that prefer the language of pleasure over that of classic flowers. Here, milky, sugary, and honeyed notes merge with hints of leather and bakhoor, creating a hypnotic contrast between tenderness and character.

Ultra-Gourmand™ technology and production process

Gourmand Bakhoor is part of the Ultra-Gourmand™ concept of Jousset Parfums, a new way of understanding gourmand perfumery. Instead of focusing on classic flowers and woods, the brand uses food-grade aromatic molecules — such as pyrazines and natural acids — responsible for the flavor of coffee, caramel, roasted nuts, or chocolate. This approach allows for a depth, realism, and sillage power that cannot be achieved with standard compositions.

Each fragrance requires a prolonged maturation and maceration process of between two and three months, well above the industry average. The concentrate first rests in the maturation phase and, after the addition of alcohol, is left to macerate for a minimum of six weeks until achieving full olfactory harmony. Even after bottling, the perfume continues to evolve, gaining nuances and richness over time.

Recommended usage

Thanks to its Extrait-type concentration, Gourmand Bakhoor offers great intensity with just a few sprays. For an optimal experience:

  • Apply 2–4 sprays on pulse points (neck, behind the ears, inner wrists).
  • For a more enveloping trail, you can lightly vaporize on the upper part of the chest or on garments (avoiding delicate fabrics and at a safe distance).
  • If the bottle is very recent, make a few 'awakening' sprays and let it rest for a few days so that the perfume rounds out in contact with oxygen.
  • Ideal for special afternoons and evenings, cool seasons, or when seeking a warm, creamy, and sophisticated aura.

Ingredients and allergens

The formulation of Gourmand Bakhoor follows international safety standards (IFRA) and uses carefully dosed raw materials to ensure safe daily use on the skin.

  • Complete composition: Alcohol, Fragrance, Linalool, (R)-p-mentha-1.8-diene, Eugenol, Benzyl Benzoate.

The components Linalool, (R)-p-mentha-1.8-diene, Eugenol, and Benzyl Benzoate are naturally found in essential oils and quality aromatic raw materials. As with any perfume, it is recommended to avoid use in case of known allergy to any of these ingredients and to conduct a small patch test on the forearm if the skin is particularly sensitive.

Each Ultra-Gourmand™ fragrance from Jousset Parfums, including Gourmand Bakhoor, is developed by in-house perfumer Jimmy Bodin and handcrafted in his own independent atelier in France.
