Accident à la Vanille by Jousset Parfums is a radical ode to vanilla: dense, smoky, indulgent, and deeply enveloping. An Ultra-Gourmand™ perfume that transforms this iconic ingredient into a modern, bohemian, and surprisingly addictive sensory experience. It does not imitate a dessert; it captures the warmth, excess, and absolute pleasure of a workshop at six in the morning, when the air is thick with butter, sugar, and toasted vanilla.

Far from the typical soft and discreet vanilla, Accident à la Vanille explores all its facets: dark, smoky, creamy, boozy, and enveloping. Each note has been “accidentally” enhanced with ingredients that highlight a distinct dimension of vanilla, resulting in a perfume with a bold character and unmistakable signature.

Inspired by the beauty of happy accidents and olfactory surprises, Accident à la Vanille reinterprets vanilla with a contemporary perspective. The layers of vanilla are enriched by warm woods and indulgent resins, creating a boho-chic, seductive, and sophisticated effect. It is a perfume that speaks of identity: perfect for those who love gourmand scents but seek something much more elaborate, complex, and present.

Ultra-Gourmand™ Olfactory Technology

Jousset Parfums has developed the Ultra-Gourmand™ category using food-grade aromatic molecules, such as pyrazines and natural acids, the same responsible for the flavor of coffee, caramel, roasted nuts, or chocolate. These raw materials, difficult to work with and replicate, allow achieving a level of realism, texture, and depth that goes beyond conventional gourmand perfumery.

Thanks to this approach, Accident à la Vanille offers a powerful sillage, great longevity, and a “almost edible” sensation on the skin, without losing refinement or balance.

Maturation and Maceration Process

Each creation by Jousset Parfums requires a prolonged maturation and maceration process, much longer than that of standard perfumery. While most fragrances need about three weeks, Ultra-Gourmand™ formulas can take two to three months to reach their fullness.

  • Initial Maturation: around two weeks, during which the perfume oils rest at controlled temperature before adding the alcohol.
  • Minimum maceration: at least six weeks, allowing the fragrance to gain depth, harmony, and roundness.

Even after bottling, the perfume can continue to evolve. Slight variations in intensity may be perceived, but the olfactory profile remains true. Letting the bottle rest for a few weeks and spraying it several times after receiving it helps the oxygen gently accelerate the maceration and optimize the result on the skin.

Concentration and performance on the skin

The house's fragrances are formulated with very high concentrations, generally between 27% and 32% of perfumed oils, precisely adjusted to achieve the perfect balance between potency, texture, and olfactory signature. This “generous precision” results in an enveloping trail and remarkable longevity, even with a few sprays.

How to use

  • Apply to pulse points: neck, behind the ears, base of the nape, and wrists.
  • Avoid rubbing the wrists after application, so as not to alter the development of the notes.
  • For a more enveloping effect, also apply one or two sprays on the inside of clothing or scarves, avoiding delicate fabrics.
  • Perfect as a nighttime olfactory signature or as an intense gourmand touch on cold days.

The formula of Accident à la Vanille has been designed to offer a realistic and sophisticated gourmand experience, respecting international safety standards. To achieve this authentic effect, the house works with natural acids and pyrazines, ingredients commonly used in the food industry (coffee, cocoa, roasted nuts), all used in carefully controlled concentrations.

Each creation Jousset Parfums Ultra-Gourmand™ is developed by in-house perfumer Jimmy Bodin and handcrafted in France in his own independent atelier.
