The Ultra-Gourmand™ Philosophy

While others analyze petals, Jousset Parfums draws inspiration from the bakery: butter, sugar, roasted vanilla, coffee, cocoa, caramelized nuts. The house's fragrances do not seek to imitate flowers, but to bottle the sensation of a freshly served dessert, of dough rising in the oven, of a first bite that comforts body and memory.

To achieve this hyper-real gourmand reality, the brand uses food-grade molecules such as pyrazines and certain natural acids, the same compounds responsible for the flavor of coffee, caramel, roasted nuts, or chocolate. Worked in rigorously controlled concentrations and compliant with IFRA, they allow the creation of almost edible perfumes, with a dense, enveloping, and deeply addictive olfactory texture.

Maturation, Maceration, and Concentration

Each Ultra-Gourmand™ fragrance is crafted with a maturation and maceration process that is much longer than that of conventional perfumery. The perfumed bases rest for about two weeks before adding alcohol and then macerate for a minimum of six additional weeks. The result is a deeper, richer, and perfectly integrated aromatic profile, with an intense trail and outstanding fixation.

Concentrations range from 27% to 32% of perfumed oils, adjusted to the tenth of a point so that each creation maintains its exact balance. In La Collection Noire, it is indicated on the bottle as “Le Parfum,” while in La Collection Blanche, “Extrait de Parfum” is used to express its richness and olfactory density.

It is possible that after shipping, the fragrances may continue to evolve slightly over time. If you notice variations in intensity, simply let the bottle rest for a few weeks and spray it a few times to allow oxygen to enter and gently accelerate the maceration.

Recommended Usage Experience

Use the scent strips to conduct a first tasting of each fragrance and note your impressions in the Memo Book: memories, emotions, scenarios, seasons of the year, or combinations that inspire you. Then, select your favorites to try on clean, slightly hydrated skin, focusing on pulse areas (wrists, inner elbows, neck, décolletage).

Thanks to its high concentration, it is recommended to start with few sprays and let the perfume develop for several minutes before deciding. The Ultra-Gourmand™ compositions unfold multiple layers: from the brightest or crisp opening, to the creamy heart, to a warm base that can linger for hours.

Included perfumes – olfactory character

  • Le Gourmand: toasted bread with salted butter, freshly made cookie dough, and a heart of creamy chocolate spread with chopped hazelnuts. A bready and chocolatey gourmand that smells like a pastry shop in the early morning.
  • Accident à La Vanille: an ode to vanilla in all its facets, from creamy and liqueur-like to smoky and resinous. Layered vanillas with sandalwood and styrax for a deep, sensual, and enveloping accord.
  • Accident à La Vanille – Madeleine de Proust: fluffy madeleine soaked in butter, peach and apricot jam, with a touch of grated coconut. A nostalgic gourmand that evokes childhood snacks and classic French pastry.
  • Delicious Black Powder: sprinkled cocoa, saffron, and bergamot in the opening, over a heart of immortelle, vanilla, and tonka bean. The soft suede and cocoa base creates the sensation of biting into a fluffy snack covered in powdered chocolate.
  • La Tarte Tatin: brown sugar with salt, baked red apple, vanilla pods, and tonka on a bed of caramel and vanilla powder. An olfactory tarte tatin, warm, buttery, and comforting.
  • Ciao Bello Pistachio: pistachio cream, vanilla macaron crumbs, waffle dough, and almond paste over a brioche filled with pistachio ice cream. A tribute to Italian pastry in its most opulent and almost edible version.
  • Gourmand Bakhoor: milk, sugar, and honey merging with soft leather, caramel, and bakhoor notes. In the base, tonka, vanilla, and chocolate provide oriental warmth and a deeply addictive milky aura.
  • African Queen: a contrast between citrus elegance and gourmand. Almond, lemon, and chocolate blend with jasmine and Bulgarian rose, on a patchouli and tonka bean base reminiscent of a lemon and chocolate tart topped with almonds.

Authenticity, safety, and savoir-faire

To achieve this level of gourmand realism, the formulas of Jousset Parfums rely on acids and natural pyrazines widely used in the food industry. These materials, worked in strictly controlled doses, are not aggressive additives, but safe components compliant with international IFRA standards for daily use on the skin.

The intensive use of pyrazines and certain acids, combined with the complexity of the maceration process, makes it extremely difficult for other houses to replicate these creations. The formulas are developed and protected internally, ensuring that each bottle of Jousset Parfums is authentic, unique, and impossible to imitate.

All fragrances are conceived by in-house perfumer Jimmy Bodin and are handcrafted in an independent atelier in France, where every detail is attended to with the same care given to a high pastry dessert: because pleasure, also in perfumery, deserves intimacy.
